Azerbaijani army registers 78 deaths in 2011: only 11 of them are combat losses
According to the “Doctrine” Journalists' Military Research Center, Azerbaijan registered 78 deaths in the defense and security sector in 2011, only 11 of them are combat losses.
Faktxeber.com reports that 9 servicemen died under unknown circumstances, 10 were killed in various accidents (gas leak, lightning strike, electric shock, etc), 11 were killed in road accidents, 8 died of various diseases (some died of poisoning), 1 died in surgery, 16 were killed in incidents caused by non-regulatory relations, and 12 committed suicide.
71 of the servicemen served in the Ministry of Defense, 4 in the State Border Service, 2 in the Internal Troops, and 1 in the National Guard.
