National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia starts Canada, St. Petersburg tours
On the threshold of the 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing, the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia (NCOA) starts Canada tour today. The orchestra will perform concerts in Toronto, Niagara and Montreal until October 21.
From October 22 to 26, the orchestra will perform two concerts on the sidelines of the International Conservatory Week Festival in Smolny Cathedral and Glazunov Concert Hall, Saint Petersburg.
The concert program features pieces by Komitas, Barsegh Kanachyan, David Halajyan, Alfred Schnittke, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Tigran Mansuryan, Ashot Satyan, Johannes Brahms, Carl Jenkins, George Gershwin, Jay Livingston, Armen Tigranyan, Robert Mlkeyan, and Edgar Hovhannisyan.
