Milaz.info: Head of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Financial Service escapes abroad
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ordered to establish an audit group from the Ministry of Finance officials to monitor the financial situation of Defense Ministry’s military units. The monitoring revealed facts of corruption in several sectors simultaneously. Financial statements in a range of military units were destroyed long before the utilization deadline, Milaz reported citing a source in the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry.
“In a military unit of the Defense Ministry, they destroyed all financial documents up to 2009. The Head of the Defense Ministry Financial Service escaped abroad. The commission currently studies these facts to submit a statement to the President later,” the source said.
“Defense Ministry spokesman Teymur Abdullayev neither confirmed nor refuted this information,” the website said adding that it has sensational information on the Ministry of Finance monitoring which will be released soon.
