“Creation of favorable conditions for new subjects to enter the market and ensuring equal rules for everybody are the priorities of our economic policy,” President Serzh Sargsyan said in his interview to the Expert periodical, which asked: “Many say that Armenian economy is monopolized. Does the government realize this and does it take steps towards fighting monopoly?”

“The attempts of developing new ideas and introduction of advanced technologies constantly receive practical support from the government. Having limited domestic market, the government has adopted the path of export promotion, providing every support to innovative initiatives. Establishment of free competitive environment is one of the most important mechanisms in achieving this purpose.

Besides achievements, there are also problems, with systemic reforms aimed at their solution, I must highlight specifically that the State Committee for Protection of Economic Competition is efficient, and we are going to support and strengthen it in every way possible,” the President stressed.
