Azadlig: Nakhichevan head, workers under his command on EU blacklist
Azadlig reports that on October 10 the European Union discussed the issue of blacklisting Iranian officials as well as their Azerbaijani colleagues. The ruling clan and a range of ministers were not put on the blacklist due to their possible visits to Europe in connection with the Nabucco project.
The source says that the European Union unequivocally decided to impose sanctions against four top officials of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic – self-proclaimed “Khan,” head of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov, his brother Magerram Talibov, National Security Minister of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic Vali Mammadov, and Minister of the Interior Ahmed Ahmedov.
Note that in 2011 September more than 300 intellectuals from Nakhichevan sent letters to the EU and other international organizations demanding to impose sanctions against the mentioned individuals.
