Azerbaijani MP: MFA position contradicts Ilham Aliyev’s statements
The recent remarks by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in media contradict the statements by President Ilham Aliyev, head of the Great Creation Party, MP Fazil Gazanfaroglu told SalamNews.
According to him, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister declares that “even if Armenia is not going to continue peace talks, Azerbaijan will continue the policy of peace” while the Azerbaijani President constantly says that the issue of “status quo” in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can only be solved within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. “In any case, war must not be ruled out and must stay topical,” he said.
Gazanfaroglu pointed to the contradiction between the positions of Azerbaijani MFA and President Aliyev and added that the “statement by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov does not fully reflect Azerbaijan’s position and therefore needs to be corrected.”
