Cost of ‘STAR social basket’ grows
On October 26 the cost of "STAR social basket" is 51 212.7 dr., which is 1.55% higher than the cost of that on 12.10.11 (50 432.2 dr.).
"The cost of the basket is greatly influenced by the seasonality of products and reduction of prices are possible due to negotiations with suppliers on organizing promotions," - mentioned the commercial director of STAR trade chain Narine Avetisyan, adding that another key factor is the instability in raw material prices on world market, as most of the products included in the Basket are imported. As a result, reduction of the Basket cost or price increase prevention in STAR trade chain, in many cases become possible only due to stating a minimum trade margins on these products.
This fortnight from the goods included in the Basket suppliers increased the prices of the following: fish (150 dr.), pork (100 dr.), chicken gammon (30 dr.), bastourma (60 dr.), sausage (150 dr.) and ham (200 dr.). Seasonal aspect has raised the prices of potatoes (40 dr.), tomatoes (45 dr.), pear (300 dr.), peach (150 dr.), pepper (90 dr.), apple (50 dr.), carrots (40 dr.), melon (25 dr.), eggplant (100 dr.) and watermelon (35 dr.)
At the same time, due to negotiations and sales in STAR trade chain during this period, the prices for the following goods were lowered: lemon (100 dr.), mushrooms (50 dr.), beans (30 dr.), garlic (200 dr.), orange (90 dr.), cucumbers (50 dr.), persimmon (100 dr.), green onions (40 dr.), mandarin (100 dr.), pomegranate (100 dr.), cauliflower (130), khash (400 dr.) and washing powder (65 dr.).
Note that «STAR social basket» includes 180 goods of first consumption with only a minimum trading margin stated on them. The cost of «STAR social basket» is calculated taking into consideration the prices of the goods included in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the share of goods is calculated according to the goods consumption in STAR trade chain.
