Human rights watchdog: Azerbaijan must hold human rights reforms
Philippe Bolopion, HRW's United Nations director, says he thinks Azerbaijan must hold human rights reforms in the country as the country has become a non-permanent member of UN Security Council, “Turan” news agency said.
“We focus on slander, release of political prisoners, holding of rallies, freedom of speech and freedom of religion,” said Philippe Bolopion.
Turan asked what problems Azerbaijan may be facing at the Security Council, to which Mr. Bolopion asnwered: “Azerbaijan will have to express opinions on tough issues, like violations of human rights, and even more to vote for resolutions on human rights.”
