“Business needs political stability and stable economic environment: we will take steps to ensure both. In the respect of economic stability, we will make further progress, ensuring not only stable inflation rate and stable financial system but also will reduce the budget deficit to GDP ratio year after year. The latter will increase our strength, and the draft state budget for 2012 proves it,” President Serzh Sargsyan said at the congress of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia.

According to the President, business needs favorable environment. “We will ensure it. We have already laid the foundations for abrupt ascent on the international scale of freedom of business environment. Last year Armenia was in fact the only country in the world which made progress in all aspects of freedom. In this issue I expect new, more significant achievements, and the government is well aware of it.”

Serzh Sargsyan noted that business needs incentives. “We will ensure it. Government’s steps in this direction gradually yield results and receive your appreciation. From tax burden facilitation up to creation of free economic zones, from encouragement of innovation projects up to modern infrastructure development – this is the wide circle of the programs we have already launched, the impact of which will become evident very soon. We have launched new steps in other directions, too. We have developed a comprehensive agenda. We should unite and reach an agreement over key national and public interests in order to live in Armenia paving the way for ascent for the sake of our future and our values. I have no doubt that in this case success will come soon. I have no doubt either that you share our confidence.”
