Turks left out of Euro 2012
The Euro 2012 group stages have already been shaped after Croatia vs. Turkey meeting ended in draw. The pots are shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet.
A number of top nations find themselves in line to go head-to-head, with hosts Poland and Ukraine pushing Germany and Italy out of the top seeded pot.
World and European champions Spain are also in pot one for the draw, as are Holland, who are currently second in the FIFA rankings.
Pot two comprises Germany, Italy, England and Russia; pot three features Croatia, Portugal, Greece and Sweden; while pot four contains France, Republic of Ireland, Denmark and Czech Republic, who pipped Scotland to a play-off spot in the qualifiers.
The Czechs defeated Montenegro to clinch their spot at the tournament, while Republic of Ireland, Croatia and Portugal also came through the final qualifying stage, defeating Estonia, Turkey and Bosnia respectively.
The seeding creates a number of permutations, no less than the possibility of Spain, Germany, Portugal and France all being drawn in the same group.
The draw for the tournament will be made on Friday, December 2 at 5pm. The finals are due to take place from June 8 to July 1, 2012.
