Germany’s Bundestag passed resolution on Azerbaijan
Bundestag Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid passed a resolution November 9 urging Azerbaijan to remain committed to the principles of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
PACE rapporteur on human rights Christoph Strasser’s activities are hampered thus the Committee called on to exercise pressure on Azerbaijani government.
As a member of the Council of Europe, Azerbaijan must fulfill its obligations, the Committee said.
Although there are 7- political prisoners in Azerbaijan, the country authorities reject existence of political prisoners and deny rapporteur Strasser’s entry to the country.
