President: We value our soldiers’ lives
“The border situation will stay restless until the problem is settled, however, we seek to avoid deaths under this restless situation,” President Serzh Sargsyan told reporters in Gegharkunik region, commenting upon the recent deadly incidents on Karabakh-Azerbaijan border.
We will remind that contract serviceman of NKR Defense Army, Mihran Margaryan, 19, was killed by Azerbaijani fire on November 20, at around 08. He died from a gunshot wound to the chest while on military duty at the NKR-Azerbaijan contact line in the southeastern direction (Kuropatkino).
On November 19, at around 08:40, Armenian contract serviceman Aren Simonyan, 19, was killed by Azerbaijani sniper fire while on military duty in the southern direction of contact line.
“The Azerbaijani authorities are absolutely responsible for the deaths of our soldiers, they are also responsible for the deaths in the Azerbaijani army. Whereas Azerbaijan does not care for the lives of its soldiers, we value our soldiers’ lives,” the President stressed.
According to the President, the border situation will calm down gradually.
“Why? Because we want so, because human mind dictates this. In order to settle some problem, we need to wish it very much, we also need confidence, because we can achieve nothing without confidence and aim,” said the President.
