Serzh Sargsyan visits Gegharkunik region
President Serzh Sargsyan has left on a working visit to Gegharkunik region early this morning. The President has visited Arabkir Institute of Children and Teenagers' Health Medical Complex in Gavar town, a Panorama.am correspondent reported from Gavar.
Director of Arabkir Medical Center, Ara Babloyan told reporters that establishment of such medical centers in the regions help assess children with special needs, reveal their problems at an early stage and organize their treatment.
There are seven similar centers in six regions of Armenia, in the towns of Spitak, Vanadzor, Gyumri, Artashat, Gavar, Ijevan, and Armavir.
More than 21500 children have undergone treatment in the Arabkir medical centers so far. The center has established a sanatorium in Aparan where 480 children have undergone treatment in the past three years.
Local specialists are retrained to work in the regional institutes, said the center’s director.
