Religious leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia call for withdrawal of snipers from contact line to prevent further deaths
The religious leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia stand for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group format, ruling out military solution to the conflict, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia told reporters after the meeting of the Presidium of the CIS Inter-religious Council in Yerevan today, presenting the joint statement issued by the three religious leaders.
In the statement, the religious leaders call on the conflict parties to withdraw snipers from the line of contact to prevent further deaths.
“A moral atmosphere will be created then, which will open new perspectives for the settlement of the conflict,” said Patriarch Kirill stressing that they pray for friendship between the leaders and peoples of the two countries.
