Virtuoso pianist Alexander Toradze pleased to accept invitation to perform concert in Yerevan
World renowned virtuoso pianist Alexander Toradze will perform a single concert at Yerevan’s Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet on December 4, featuring pieces by Romantic period composers. The concert is dedicated to the memory of the victims of the devastating 1988 Armenian earthquake, director of Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, Kamo Hovhannisyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
“The composer himself decided to dedicate the concert to the memory of the 1988 earthquake victims,” said Hovhannisyan.
“The composer was pleased to accept our invitation to visit Armenia, and we are very happy, firstly, because our orchestra has a chance to perform with the virtuoso musician, besides, our audience can attend a concert performed by such a musician,” said he.
Alexander Toradze will perform Concert for Piano and Orchestra No.3 by Sergei Prokofiev and No.2 by Dmitri Shostakovich with the orchestra of Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
Alexander Toradze often performs concerts with world renowned orchestras of New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Montreal, Czech Republic, Sweden, etc. Currently he is recording the Piano Concert by Shostakovich with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
