“Armenia With You:” exclusive film-guide about Armenia
The DVDs of film-guide “Armenia With You” are already available from December 1.
The film made by AZD Production features the civilization charm and peculiarity of the Armenian people. The three-hour documentary film-guide acquaints viewers not only with Armenia’s historical-cultural monuments and sights but also with the joy, sorrow, national psychology and traditions of the people having a history going back thousands of years.
Geghard, Tsakhkadzor, Sevan, Tatev, Vardavar, Tearnyndaraj, cross-stones, lavash, traditional Armenian wedding… this exclusive film features the nature, history and cultural heritage of Armenia, a country lying at the crossroads of West and East.
The film has been made by around 20-member creative group of AZD Production. The film is directed by General Producer of AZD Production Hayk Harutyunyan. The script is written by Tehmine Hayrumyan.
It took the creative group around 5 years to make the film, General Producer of AZD Production Hayk Harutyunyan told a Panorama.am reporter.
“We aimed to create a full-length film about Armenia, with bright colors and manifestations. This film-guide gives everyone a chance to get acquainted with Armenia. Armenians living in Armenia will also take an interest in the film, with exclusive scenes and interesting places which are not known to everyone. The film aims to boost international and domestic tourism in Armenia, to attract tourists not only from foreign countries but also from Armenia,” said the General Producer.
The film is released in Armenian, Russian, and English but they are going to release a seven-language DVD in three or four months, said the director.
According to the director, it is a documentary for all age groups.
“Children can also watch this film. I think children above 10 years will take an interest in it,” said he.
Hayk Harutyunyan said that unfortunately they had not received financial support from the government to make the film.
“We appealed to two ministries to provide us with a free helicopter because of the lack of funds but they said that they provide vehicles at commercial prices only, at the same time they provided a Spanish company with a helicopter free of charge. State structures in fact prefer working with foreign companies,” noted the producer.
H. Harutyunyan expressed the hope that the government agencies which do country’s PR and boost country’s tourism will take an interest in this film.
The film will be released via DVDs only, said the producer, adding that the disk sales cannot fully cover the costs of film making, though the film is not commercial.
We will remind that AZD Production has made the documentaries “Western Armenia,” Karabakh,” “Cilicia,” “Ani,” “Geghard,” Noyan Tapan,” “Holy Cross Without Cross” and others.
