We will remind that several hundreds of activists of the opposition Musavat Party and Azerbaijan Popular Front Party took part in the biggest protest action of 2011 in the center of Baku on March 12. Hundreds of people gathered in Fountains Square, chanting anti-government slogans: “Down with Aliyev regime!,” “Gaddafi relatives, get out of Azerbaijan!” The protesters were being detained by police officers and people in plainclothes, who were standing ready, pushing them into cars parked nearby. The police detained head of Executive Committee of Musavat Arif Gajili and leader of the youth organization Tural Abbasli. Dozens of people were detained along with them.
