Turkey threatens to recall ambassador from Paris
Spokesperson for Turkey’s Embassy in Paris Engin Solakoglu said Turkey will recall its ambassador from Paris for an indefinite time if the French Parliament passes the bill criminalizing the denial of Armenian Genocide on December 22.
“There may be unrecoverable consequences in all fields of French-Turkish bilateral relations. We hope the French government will leave history to historians,” Anka Turkish news agency quoted Solakoglu as saying.
We will remind that the bill authored by Valerie Boyer envisages one year prison term and a fine of 45,000 euros for anyone who denies the fact of Armenian Genocide.
