Iranian General says Azerbaijani officials must be responsible for their actions
“Azerbaijani statesmen must be responsible for their actions,” Iranian “ISNA” news agency quotes General Commander of Iran’s Police Border Service Hosseyn Zolfaghari as saying.
“Some armed Azerbaijani border officers passed the Iranian border illegally, and instead of asking for an apology they insist the incident happened on their land, while experts from the both parties have confirmed the incident happened in the territory of Iran.”
General Zolfaghari has also referred to the recent army incident when Azerbaijani soldier killed an Iranian serviceman: “Azerbaijani border officers, having violated the international norms, have shot dead an Iranian border serviceman.”
