Gala concert dedicated to 85th jubilee of Philharmonic Orchestra
A gala concert dedicated to the 85th jubilee of Armenia’s State Philharmonic Orchestra will be performed today in Aram Khachatryan concert hall. Directed by Edward Topchyan, renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan will perform Beethoven's violin concerto N 4.
Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1925 by Alexander Spendiaryan. Later the orchestra was directed by Konstantin Sarajian, Michael Maluntsyan, Ohan Durian, Davit Khanjian, Valery Gergiev, Loris Tshgnavorian. Edward Topchyan is the director of philharmonic orchestra since 2000.
Aram Khachatryan has also directed the orchestra on different special events.
