Iranian Gen. says Turkey-hosted NATO radar system target of Iran
NATO radar systems installed in Turkey will be operated next week, Iranian “FARS” news agency reported.
According to the source, although Turkey hasn’t yet approved the news, Iran has submitted an official protest to Turkey, and Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards' aerospace division, explicitly uttered a threat that the NATO radar system, which is planned to be installed in eastern Malatya province, would be primarily targeted by Iran.
When Turkey adopted a decision to host NATO radar systems, Iran’s President, FM and Defense Minister expressed concerns over the matter.
