Pressure against human rights activists grows in Azerbaijan
After the parliamentary elections in 2010, Azerbaijani authorities put the human rights and opposition activists on the same scales exercising more pressure against them, “Turan” news agency quotes human rights protection observer’s report as reading.
The report reads: “November elections weren’t democratic, freedom of mass media and assembly has been limited, a large scale of violations has been recorded during registration of candidates.”
“The authorities refuse to register election monitoring and democracy studies center as an independent observer’s institute,” reads the report.
