Surprising dismiss for Norayr Muradkhanyan
Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan signed a decree on Jan. 9 dismissing Police Colonel Norayr Muradkhanyan, the head of police passport and visa department. Norayr Muradkhanyan has been removed to a staff reserve list.
Police press service told Panorama.am that Police Colonel Hovhannes Kocharyan, deputy head of Police Academy, has been appointed Head of Department by another decree signed on Jan. 9.
Norayr Muradkhanyan told Panorama.am the Chief’s of Police decision was a surprise for him. Asked what he was going to do, Mr. Muradkhanyan said: “I’ll have a rest.”
Norayr Muradkhanyan was chairing the department since 2008.
