In 2011 food product inflation formed 12.3%
In December 2011 4,7% inflation has been registered in consumer market compared to December 2010. During the reporting period the prices of food products increased in 6,1%, non-food products – 4,3% and service prices – 2,9%, Gurgen Martirosyan of National statistics service said in a news conference. The official said that in 2011 the highest inflation was registered in sugar products forming 35,4%.
According to official data in 2011 coffee, tea and cacao prices increased in 18,9%, meat products - 12,7%, confectionery - 12,9%, dairy products – 6,8%, fish – 1.6%, cereals – 2,3%, non-alcoholic beverages – 1,7%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco – 2%.
G. Martirosyan said in 2011 prices in 3 product groups reduced, particularly egg, fruit and vegetable prices.
In December 2011 compared to November 2011 the inflation rate in consumer market formed 2.5%. Average annual rate in Armenia was 7,7%, food product inflation was 12,3%, non-food products – 3,4% and service products 3,6%.
