Egyptian Suez Canal revenues climb up
Revenues from Egyptian Suez Canal climbed almost 4.8 percent year-on-year in December Agence France-Presse reported.
Data from the Suez Canal Authority on Sunday showed revenues from the vital waterway climbed to $443.7 million in December from $423.4 million in the same month in 2010. Revenue was up almost 1.9 percent from November to December 2011.
The popular uprising has ravaged Egypt’s economy, leaving the canal as one of the few solid foreign currency earners for the currency after tourism and foreign investment took a beating during near daily protests.
