Erdogan vows sanctions against France
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan convened a Board meeting in the headquarters of the Justice and Development party while the French Senate was debating the Armenian Genocide bill on January 23.
Milliyet reports that the meeting attendees discussed imposing the following sanctions on France:
- to recall Turkish Ambassador from Paris
- to reduce diplomatic relations with France to a minimum level
- to withdraw French goods from circulation
- to recall the Turkish Attaché and to invalidate the credentials of the French Attaché
- to close the Turkish air space for military aircraft of France
- to close Turkish sea space for military ships of France
- the sanctions should be long-lasting, not temporary.
