UEFA disqualifies Rybka for two years
UEFA has disqualified Oleksandr Rybka, the goalkeeper of the Ukraine national football team and of the Shakhtar Donetsk football club for two years, reads a statement made by the press service of FC Shakhtar Donetsk, un.ua reported.
"FC Shakhtar Donetsk has received from the UEFA the resolution in the 'Rybka case.' According to the official documents, our team's goalkeeper is disqualified for two years," the statement said.
This is an extremely severe verdict, not quite appropriate to the scale of the football player's act, FC Shakhtar said.
The club intends to submit an appeal to the corresponding UEFA structures.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, it has become known that UEFA nailed Rybka using doping.
A spokesman for the club said that the goalkeeper had been taking a weight-loss medicine containing banned substances.
