L. Ananyan: Ghukasyan brothers ready to buy a part of Tumanyan’s house in Tbilisi
“Bells were still ringing in Tbilisi when Mayor of Gyumri was interested in Tumanyan’s apartment. When we were back, I had some business in Gyumri, there I met with the Mayor and he told me that Ghukasyan brothers were ready to buy a part of the land belonging to Lezhava (120sm) and to devote it to Armenian community in Tbilisi,” Levon Ananyan, President of Armenian Union of Writers, said in a news conference.
Patriotic Union of Lori has declared it will be intensively engaged into the process, and the Municipality of Tbilisi has promised to hold the reconstruction. L. Ananyan has said Union of Armenians in Tbilisi will negotiate with A. Lezhava to define the price and the benefactors will pay it.
When back from Tbilisi, Mr. Ananyan met with PM Tigran Sargsyan. They thought to open a fund and to collect money, “but Ghukasyans’ family appeared with this proposal.”
Sergo Yeritsyan, the President of Lori patriotic union, has said if everything is done as planned Tumanyan’s house will serve as a culture center.
