Municipality of Malatia demolishes Armenian chapel
The Municipality of Turkish city of Malatia has ordered to demolish the last chapel being built in Armenian cemetery, Turkish “Cumhuriyet” reported.
The chapel was financed by “Armenian benefactors of Malatia” and was to serve as a special place for final burial religious ceremonies.
Mayor of Malatia Ahmet Chakir said the group of workers had demolished the cemetery by chance.
Khosrov Kyolektavitoglu, the president of the union, expressed his deepest disappointment: “Who has been scared of our decedents? Who has been alarmed by our deepest respect towards them?”
