Turan: Opposition in Azerbaijan threatens with political surprises
“The opposition in Azerbaijan threatens to cause political surprises if the authorities don’t release prisoners of conscience,” Turan news agency reported.
According to the source public chamber initiative has held discussions focusing on the issue of releasing prisoners of conscience. Head of “Musafat” Party, where the discussion was held, Isa Hambar said the prisoners of conscience were arrested in April previous year.
“Keeping them in prisons the authorities unveil their not commitment to hold positive reforms. Hence, the regime should be changed. Ilham Aliyev and his government must understand it,” Isa Hambar said.
The participants of the discussion have declared if the prisoners of conscience are not released, Baku will face challenges during Eurovision 2012.
