Iranian Mejlis: Iran to halt oil export to Europe
Iranian oil export to Europe will be halted before oil embargo is functioned; Iran’s Mejlis appeared with a statement today.
According to Iranian “FARS” news agency “Mejlis supports Iranian Oil Ministry’s initiative to halt oil export to Europe. Iran will not wait until EU imposes oil embargo.”
Iranian “MEHR” news agency quoted Iran’s Minister of Oil Rostam Ghasemi as saying in a news conference that Iranian oil export to European countries would be halted. The Iranian senior statesman has urged members of the “Organization Exporting Oil” to respect their mutual rights in the field of international oil market.
On January 23 EU member states have decided to postpone Iranian oil embargo until July. Iran’s oil is being imported into Japan (14%), South Korea (10%), China (22%), some Asian countries (12%), India (13%), South Africa (4%), Spain (6%), Italy (7%), Turkey (7%), some EU states (5%).
