R. Petrosyan: Many parties to weaken parliament, government
“Expression “compromise minus one” is being circulated by the opposition parties and it refers to the Republican Party. They mean that all the parties support proportional electoral system, except RPA. But it’s not true, since Prosperous Armenia, Rule of Law, National Self-Determination Union, Christian-democratic party have declared the issue hasn’t yet been matured to hold proportional elections,” Republican MP Rafik Petrosyan said.
As for the government’s interests to hold fair and transparent elections the MP has said when the international community sees democracy is being developed in a country, they provide great support to that country.
“If many parties win the elections, both the Parliament and the Government will weaken,” the MP said.
