Joleon Lescott not to be with England squad
Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has been told he will not feature for England in next week’s friendly clash against the Netherlands at Wembley, Goal.com reported.
Earlier this week, caretaker boss Stuart Pearce signalled his intention to leave several senior players out of his squad to face the Dutch as he looks to assess younger options, and the defender has revealed he is among those who has been left out.
"I have been told I am not involved," the 29-year-old told reporters after Manchester City's 4-0 Europa League victory over Porto. "It is a chance for other players to get involved and prove what good players they are."
