Turkish analyst: Why were Turks silent over Khojaly for 20 years?
The author and the host of “Neutral Zone” television program broadcast by CNNTurk and dissident intellectual Ahmet Haqan has published a story about the Turkish society reaction regarding Khojaly events.
“Why wasn’t anybody rupturing throat earlier? Why weren’t similar rallies being held in Taqsim square before? Why wasn’t a single story being published on this theme? Why were events being held on every February 26?”
However, Ahmet Haqan motivates it that “there was no need to do anything against France and Sarkozy. Is this the way you imagine philanthropy? You remember about those events only when appear in a tensed political situation because of Armenians?”
Assessing on Turks’ unprecedented rapid reaction over Khojaly events, Ahmet Haqan underlined that the topic of massacre has become a tool to get rid of political pressure.
