84th annual Academy Awards names best…
The 84th annual Academy Awards took place claiming The Artist best picture. “The Artist” swept the competition, winning five awards, including best picture, best directing for Michel Hazanavicius, and best actor for Jean Dujardin.
The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep ends her 30-year Oscar drought, winning the best actress trophy for the first time since 1982's Sophie's Choice. "When I heard my name, I could hear half of America going, 'Oh, no! Not again! Her!' But whatever!" She makes sure to thank her longtime makeup artist, Mark Coulier (also an Oscar winner tonight), because "I'm never going to be up here again!"
