No formulation “genocide” used by Georgia in reference to Aghdam events of February 1992
Azerbaijani media spread misinformation about adoption of a “resolution on Khojaly genocide” by Georgia, U.S.
APA’s Washington correspondent reports that Georgia House of Representatives passed resolution No.1594 as a result of an active campaign by the Azerbaijani and Turkish communities. However, it takes only to get acquainted with the original resolution No.1594 for getting convinced that Azeri propaganda tries to pass the desirable for reality. The formulation “genocide” is not mentioned in the resolution.
More, the text of the document, adopted hastily, within one day, contains gross errors. For instance, “336th Motorized Infantry Division” is blamed for the Aghdam events of February 1992, while indeed this division was created in August-November, 1941 to participate in the Battle of Moscow during the Great Patriotic War, and therefore it has nothing to do with Karabakh war.
While providing their lobbyists in the House of Representatives with agitation materials, Azerbaijani propagandists also distorted figures and pulled phrases out of the context.
