Artak Sargsyan to be “appointed” MP
Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun reports that Artak Sargsyan, owner of SAS Supermarkets will be “appointed” MP in constituency No. 5.
Republican Hovhannes Shahinyan also wanted to participate in the elections in that constituency but he announced that he had decided not to run for parliament because Artak Sargsyan was to be the winning candidate in that electoral district.
The newspaper reminds readers that Artak Sargsyan is one of the businessmen who left the Orinats Yerkir Party within a night following the instructions of the authorities. Then he joined the People’s Party led by Tigran Karapetyan hoping to enter the parliament in this way. However, he failed to become an MP in 2007.
