 Azerbaijan rejects any confidence building proposal, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is quoted as saying in a briefing after his meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

“Azerbaijan is critically against any confidence building proposal, either contributing to the regional cooperation or easing of strained situation in the contact line,” President said emphasizing: “Regretfully, Azerbaijan is against withdrawal of snipers from the contact line, is against investigation of incidents, moreover, threats imposing war haven’t suspended even a second.”

Panorama.am correspondent reported that President has emphasized Azerbaijan makes propaganda of hatred against Armenians. “A couple of days ago Azerbaijan’s President declared Armenians spread all over the world are enemies of Azerbaijani people. This fact deserves international community’s assessment,” he said.

Referring to the resolution of NK conflict, President said they have focused on the issue with Secretary General and reached an agreement that “the conflict should be resolved through peaceful negotiations on the sidelines of OSCE Minsk group.”

“We are sure the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is possible only through self-determination right of peoples and through comprehensive security guarantees,” Serzh Sargsyan concluded.
