S. Minasyan: EU to have intensified involvement in support programs to Armenia
“Serzh Sargsyan’s meetings held in Brussels are of great importance for Armenia’s integration into Euro-Atlantic Alliance,” political expert, deputy director of Caucasus institute Sergey Minasyan told Panorama.am regarding Armenian president’s working visit to Belgium.
“The message from Brussels focusing on our improving and favorable political developments was clear. First of all it targets the elections,” said the expert.
According to him the EU is going to have an intensified involvement in support programs to Armenia, and in the resolution of Karabakh conflict.
Referring to Armenia-NATO relations, the expert said:
“North-Atlantic Alliance + Armenia 28 + 1 session format was of great importance, as not all the states cooperating with NATO deserve that kind of format, which means that Armenia and NATO share high-level talks. Armenia, not counting Georgia, has the largest military contingent in NATO forces among post-Soviet countries, which, I think, is greatly hailed by NATO member states.”
