Titanic's debris field map revealed
Scientists have pieced together the first comprehensive map of the Titanic's debris field and are hopeful to find out why the ship sank.
An expedition team used sonar imaging and more than 100,000 photos taken from underwater robots to create the map, which shows where hundreds of objects and pieces of the vessel landed after striking an iceberg, Associated Press reported.
The research results will be released on April 15 when the 100-year anniversary of the tragedy will be marked.
The sinking of Titanic on April 14, 1912, is one of the deadliest maritime disasters in the human history, claiming 1517 lives. The mystery behind the reason why Titanic sank has not been solved fully.
