168 Zham: RPA rejects Lyova Khachatryan’s bid to join party
Media reports said Friday that Republican MP Armen Purtoyan wants to quit the party and to run for parliament, he considers the possibility of joining Prosperous Armenia Party, 168 Zham reports.
The newspaper reminds readers that Purtoyan was elected in majority system in Erebuni where RPA will nominate former Erebuni prefect Mher Sedrakyan. Sedrakyan told the daily that even if he does not become MP, he will not quit RPA. And his participation will become clear after the RPA congress due today.
Independent MP Lyova Khachatryan, elected in Aparan, also mulls joining Prosperous Armenia Party. RPA is going to support the candidacy of Tigran Mets publishing house director Vrezh Markosyan in Aparan. Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan will also support Markosyan, reports say.
RPA rejected Lyova Khachatryan’s bid to join the party, writes the newspaper.
“Khachatryan did not refute these reports. Rumors say he does not enjoy party leadership’s support because he dared to criticize Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s policy,” according to the source.
