Turkish Court of Appeal approves Ogun Samast’s verdict
Turkish Court of Appeal has approved 22 years and 10 months imprisonment term for Ogun Samast, the murderer of renowned Armenian political activist, founder of Agos daily Hrant Dink, Turkish daily Zaman reported.
On July 25, 2011, the Istanbul 2nd Juvenile High Criminal Court sentenced Ogun Samast to 22 years and ten months in prison on charges of “premeditated murder” and “unlicensed possession of weapons”.
Samast’s lawyer expected the Court of Appeals would overturn the ruling, however the Court has upheld the verdict.
