Journalists refuse to bet with Samvel Alexanyan
Rumors were circulating among journalists in the parliament yesterday that MP Samvel Alexanyan offered them to bet that no one will run “against” him in constituency No.7 in Yerevan, according to Haykakan Zhamanak.
None of the journalists took the bet. Samvel Alexanyan’s move was based on that preliminary version because yesterday he “nominated” employee of Malatia-Sebastia prefecture, a certain non-partisan Vardan Vardanyan as a candidate for parliament in that constituency.
The Electoral Code states that at least two candidates must be registered for elections to be valid.
