Orinats Yerkir nominates brother of singer Afon arrested on attempted murder charge
According to Zhoghovurd daily, we have an interesting situation in constituency No.12 of Yerevan. Orinats Yerkir Party has nominated Robert Masumyan, more widely known under nickname Benzin Rubo, in this constituency.
According to the daily, “it is noteworthy that Masumyan is the brother of singer Afon who was arrested on charge of attempted murder plot against State Revenue Committee chairman Gagik Khachatryan.”
“Masumyan headed PAP Shengavit territorial office in the parliamentary elections in 2007 and in Yerevan Mayor’s election in 2009. However, he was expelled from PAP after Afon scandal. And now Orinats Yerkir has nominated him as a candidate for parliament,” says the newspaper.
