EU imposes sanctions against 17 Iranian senior officials
The European Union has imposed sanctions against 17 Iranian senior statesmen, Iranian news agency FARS reported.
The new sanctions list includes head of Iranian judiciary Sadeq Larijani, the minister of information and communication, Reza Taqipour, and the head of Iran's state broadcasting network (IRIB), Ezzatollah Zarghami.
The new names are subject to asset freezes and travel bans.
The European Union has already imposed sanctions on Major General Seyed Hassan Firouzabadi, Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi, Chief of Police Alireza Akbarshahi, former interior minister Sadeg Mahsuli.
