Real Madrid not in crisis, Sergio Ramos says
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has hailed his team's squad depth in the wake of their 3-0 Champions League quarter-final first-leg win away against APOEL on Tuesday evening, Goal.com reported.
The Santiago Bernabeu side were without midfielders such as Lassana Diarra and Xabi Alonso in Cyprus, and the former Sevilla man was happy to see Nuri Sahin step up and prove his worth.
"Sahin should be congratulated for his performance. Xabi Alonso is very important, but we have many and excellent players," Sergio Ramos was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
The defender then went on to discuss his side's recent La Liga draws against Malaga and Villarreal, and stressed that Madrid are not in a crisis.
"Results always help calm things down. People said there was a crisis after two draws and we have to step away from that.
"We're fine and must enjoy ourselves. We have to keep away from all that and continue working every day. We are in a privileged position."
