Davutoglu’s cartoon mocks Kurdish paper closure
A cartoon of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu by Musa Kart has been widely covered and much talked about in Turkey. The topic of the cartoon is the closure of “Özgür Gündem” daily and termination of duties.
Davutoglu’s cartoon depicts him as a famous “Who wants to become millionaire” TV show participants who answers to a question “Name the country where Özgür Gündem was closed” choosing Syria.
Istanbul Court passed a verdict a couple of days ago to suspend the paper’s duties for a month. It’s said the paper contributed to Kurdistan Workers party (PKK) promotion.
