Bulgaria to assist Armenia’s European integration
Trade turnover between Armenia and Bulgaria amounts to around USD 60 million, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told a joint press conference with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
Tigran Sargsyan noted that at the meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, they had named the fields where Armenia and Bulgaria can expand economic cooperation.
First, according to Tigran Sargsyan, in order to reveal economic interests, we should strengthen contacts between Armenian and Bulgarian citizens, that is to say, we should start with tourism. The second sector is pharmaceutics and the third is IT where Armenia has huge potential.
“A business forum to be hosted by Bulgaria will give us the possibility to reveal fields and branches for economic cooperation,” Armenian PM noted.
Bulgarian PM stressed that Bulgaria can be a bridge to the European Union for Armenia.
“Bulgaria is ready to assist Armenia’s European integration,” said Bulgarian PM.
Tigran Sargsyan thanked Boyko Borisov for sharing the experience of his country’s European integration with Armenia and added that Bulgaria’s experience will help us implement reform in Armenia.
