Gagik Melikyan: Parliament speaker has already come up with initiative to control electoral process
“RPA in the person of parliament speaker has already come up with such initiative. We will create a group that will take control of the electoral process,” secretary of RPA parliamentary faction Gagik Melikyan told Panorama.am, commenting on the idea of creating a joint public control body by HAK, ARF, PAP and Heritage ahead of elections.
According to the MP, the parliament speaker is to create a watchdog group which will include parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces, NGOs and international observers.
“That is the main reason why RPA has not joined the opposition’s proposal,” Melikyan noted.
