Yerevan residents disappointed with opposition
“Yerevan residents have always backed opposition in the elections. However, this time, the election campaign has not been launched yet but the opposition has already disappointed voters,” Golos Armenii reports.
Raffi Hovannisian’s idea that the opposition is to nominate a common candidate in the constituencies by majority system was killed in incipience, says the paper. Indeed, the opposition did not seek unification, and the talks about possible negotiations between HAK, ARF and Heritage were just a means to avoide accusations about opposition’s inability to give up their personal ambitions and to unite against the authorities, says the paper.
Head of RPA parliamentary faction Galust Sahakyan was right in predicting that there will be a hot struggle between the opposition parties in the elections, says the daily.
